Meet and Greet

BoardConnect is a highly rated program connecting nonprofit agencies in Central New Jersey to prospective board members. Who connects with BoardConnect? Nonprofit organizations looking to expand their board of trustees or add new leadership and bring fresh ideas to the table.

We are now accepting applications for the Spring 2018 Meet & Greet Nonprofit Fair! If you would like to review the requirements for participation, please see below, and to apply to be a part of the Fair, follow this LINK. If you have any questions about the program, please feel free to email our Executive Director, Amy Klein, at amy@volunteerconnectnj.org or call the office at (609) 921-8893.

BoardConnect features two components:

  1. Training by content experts on essential topics to help prepare individuals to be proactive, highly effective members of a nonprofit board; and
  2. Facilitation of introductions to area nonprofit organizations interested in having participants join a committee or at the board level.

BoardConnect Participants

Participants are selected for the BoardConnect program based on their relevant professional experience, skills, talents and interest in nonprofit service. This helps to ensure they will be connected with the most appropriate nonprofit partners. Participants receive eight hours of training on topics involving governance, legal matters, fiduciary responsibilities, advocacy and fundraising.

All sessions are taught by subject experts. Attendance at all four training sessions is mandatory. Upon completion of the program, participants will attend the Meet and Greet Nonprofit Fair, where they will be introduced to selected nonprofits in an effort to facilitate a connection.

BoardConnect Alumni have gone on to join boards that are creating social change, such as The Arts Council of Princeton, Campfire NJ, Dress for Success, Easel Animal Rescue, Enable, Homefront, Interfaith Caregivers, Kidsbridge, LALDEF, Millhill Child & Family Development, One Simple Wish, The Princeton-Blairstown Center, Princeton Nursery School, Sourland Conservancy, Trenton Music Makers, and many more.

BoardConnect Nonprofit Partners

VolunteerConnect is proud to offer its BoardConnect program to select nonprofit partners. Both partnering nonprofits and program graduates will gain uniquely valuable benefits from taking part in this program.
