YMCA Camp Ralph S. Mason

Through the transforming experience of outdoor camping – rich in bonding friendships, physical activity, and fun – YMCA Camp Mason will lead youth, families, and community to an awareness of our core traditions of environmental stewardship, spirituality, and respect for our fellow man.

Description:
YMCA Camp Mason is an independent YMCA summer camp and year-round outdoor education & retreat center. In the summer we operate a day camp, a resident camp and a wilderness travel program for teens. Throughout the school year we host over 150 schools, groups and non-profit organizations for residential programs.

Camp Mason is located in northern Warren County on 600 acres.

We offer two volunteer work weekends each year (spring and fall). Interested volunteers are invited to stay at camp for the weekend and assist with a variety of maintenance and landscaping projects. We provide housing, meals and recreational activities when the work day is over.

Additionally, Camp Mason has a number of volunteer committees (Facilities, Finance, Fundraising, Program & Personnel) for which we recruit volunteers with appropriate knowledge and experience. Committees typically met 3-5 times a year, with most meetings being held in the Mercer County area.

History:
Camp Mason was founded in 1900 by the Trenton YMCA. For many years the camp was located on Marshall's Island on the Delaware River. In 1955 a major flood destroyed the campsite and a new location was identified in Hardwick, New Jersey. Camp Mason is an independent YMCA with strong ties to Mercer County.
