Amachi-Break The Cycle In Mercer County
The purpose of Amachi-Break the Cycle is to introduce a caring adult mentor into the lives of children of incarcerated parents. The role of an adult mentor is not to replace the parent’s role, but to spend quality time with a child of an incarcerated parent for one hour a week for at least one year. It is our hope that our efforts to help children who are impacted by incarceration will break the inter-generational cycle of incarceration.
Description:
Amachi-Break the Cycle in Mercer County is a collaborative effort between the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Mercer County and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County. Mentors who are aged 55 years and older will enroll as RSVP members.
