Volunteer Title: Advocacy/Marketing Campaign Consultant

General Description of Project: Create a campaign that targets key constituencies to build community support of Princeton Community TV.  The constituencies include the viewing public, potential viewers, local representatives and potential sponsors.

Job Tasks:

  • Become familiar with the organization, mission, history and goals.
  • Assess current perception of Princeton Community TV in various constituencies
  • Create a plan that will educate and inform key constituencies

Experience Required: Marketing/Advocacy/Outreach campaign experience

Time Commitment: 40 hours – most of the work can be done off site with 2-3 in-person planning and touch points during the project. Completion date: Labor Day

Princeton Community Television is intended to provide an outlet for members of the Princeton and neighboring communities to broadcast locally produced programs as well as other quality programming, to the Princeton area over Channel 30 on the Comcast Cable system and Channel 45 on Verizon FiOS. Princeton Community Television is, by definition, Television Made by You.

History
Princeton Community Television is a Public Access cable station, created by the Borough and Township of Princeton in January 1997. Princeton TV was founded in principle that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to share their thoughts, convey their views, express their creativity and master new skills in a digital age. Princeton TV officially became a nonprofit community media center in 2006.
