Volunteer Title: Database Administrator

General Description of Project: Support the transition of client support services to an online database called Apricot, provided by Social Solutions. The role involves acting as an Apricot administrator to complete the implementation and to establish administrative best practices for reporting and data quality, while supporting LifeTies’ intent to build a continuous quality improvement system.

Apricot is a cloud-based, subscription software package with intuitive, web-based form and report creation tools in the front end, and SQL database tables in the backend. Administrators set up the database structure, design forms and reports, manage user access permissions and periodically audit and back up the database tables. As each new program comes on line, the administrator will address user support questions which will occasionally require interaction with Social Solutions support staff.

Experience Required: A bachelor’s degree information technology or computer science. Database implementation.

Time Commitment: 60-80 hours – most of the work can be done off site with 4-5 in-person planning and touch points during the project.
